Verbouwwaarde works out, per address, what a renovation costs and what it returns. That needs an address, and sometimes an email address. Below is exactly what we record, why, for how long, and who else sees it. The short version: as little as possible, in the EU, and never passed to contractors.
What we record
No more than we need to give you a verdict and, if you buy, to deliver a report.
- Your postcode and house number, and the answers you give yourself: house type, energy label, roof shape, number of solar panels, and optionally your WOZ value or your own estimate.
- What we fetch about the address from public registers, so a report can be rebuilt later without querying those registers again.
- Your email address, but only if you have your verdict emailed or buy a report. A free verdict needs nothing from you.
- Which tick boxes we showed you and what you did with them, with the date and the version of the wording. That is how we can show what you did and did not agree to.
- A salted, one-way shortening of your IP address alongside those ticks. We do not keep the IP address itself.
- If you buy: what you bought, the amount, the VAT, Mollie's payment reference and the emails we sent.
Why, and on what basis
- To produce and deliver the verdict and the report: performance of our contract with you, and for the free verdict our legitimate interest in making the service work.
- To email you the verdict or the report: performance of the contract. These emails are the thing you asked for.
- To email you tips or a subsidy alert: only with your consent, which you can withdraw in one click from any such email.
- To keep the invoice and the accounts: a legal obligation.
How long we keep it
A calculation with no purchase is kept for at most twelve months and then deleted. If you buy a report, we keep the order, the invoice and the report for seven years, because Dutch tax law requires it. Consents are kept as long as we need to be able to show what you chose; those rows cannot be changed, only added to.
Who else sees it
We do not pass your details to contractors or quote sites. If you request quotes you click through to the party itself and fill in your own details there; we send nothing about you in that link. The job brief you can copy from your report contains no name, address or email address — you add those yourself if you want to.
To run the service we use a number of suppliers, who only do what we instruct them to:
- Supabase (Frankfurt) for the database and report storage.
- Vercel (Frankfurt) for hosting the website.
- Mollie (Netherlands) for payment. Mollie sees the payment; we never see card or account details.
- Resend for sending email.
- Cloudflare Turnstile, to keep automated abuse off the address form.
- Inngest, to start the background work for a paid report. Only an order number travels with it — no address and no email address.
- Anthropic for the written explanation in the paid report. We send the calculated result and characteristics of the property — build year, type, floor area, roof — and never your address, postcode, house number or email address.
Where your data sits
The database, the storage and the website are in the EU. Some suppliers are established outside the EU; we work with them under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, and they receive only what is listed above.
Cookies
We use no tracking cookies and no advertising cookies, and we do not measure your behaviour. That is also why you see no cookie banner: strictly necessary cookies need no consent.
What we do set:
- After a purchase, a cookie that lets your browser open your own report when you come back from the payment page. It holds a signed reference to that one report.
- If you sign in with an email link: a session cookie, so you stay signed in.
What you can ask for
You can ask what data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to its use, and withdraw your consent. Email the address at the bottom of this page; we reply within a month. If you disagree with us, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
Who we are
The company details (name, address, Chamber of Commerce number and VAT identification number) and the contact address are not here yet. While that is the case Verbouwwaarde is not live and nothing can be bought; they will be added before the site opens. So the request described above can only be made once this block is filled in.
